What it does
Drafts the writing you would otherwise do from scratch: a renewal follow-up, subject-line options, a starter for a message you have not begun, the same paragraph in a different tone. And it answers questions about your own organization's data.
It cites what it used. A draft that references a member's history says which history.
The rule about your members' names
No member name, email or document ever reaches Anthropic.
Before a question leaves Sembr, every identity in it is swapped for a token. The model sees the shape of the problem and never the person. The answer comes back and the real names are put back on our side, so you read something useful and the model read something anonymous.
This is not a setting and there is no switch that turns it off.
Your allowance
Ask Sembr is on both plans. What differs is how much is included:
- Essential: 100,000 tokens a month
- Growth: 500,000 tokens a month
The counter is visible in the product and resets on the calendar month. When it runs out, the AI features stop until the month turns. They stop rather than silently billing you, which is the honest version of a quota.
Your own key
You can put your own Anthropic API key in instead, on either plan, and pay Anthropic directly. Then your usage is between you and them, and your included allowance stops being the limit.
Sembr checks the key works before saving it, rather than accepting it and failing the first time you need it.
What it will not do
It will not invent a member fact. If the data does not support an answer, it says so instead of producing a confident sentence.
It will not send. Every draft is yours to read, edit and send. Nothing generated goes to a member without a person deciding it should.
It is not a character. There is no bot, no name, no personality. It is a capability with a label on it.
Turning it off
Settings. With AI off, every other part of Sembr works exactly as before. The platform is fully usable without it and always will be, because a membership organization should not have to buy an opinion about AI to get a member database.
