What you can embed
- Your member directory, including a detail view for a single member
- Your events, including a single event and its registration form
- A join form, so somebody can become a member from your own site
How
A script tag on the page where you want it. Configure the widgets in settings, then copy the snippet.
It works anywhere you can paste HTML: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, a static site, or a page somebody wrote by hand in 2009. There is no plugin to install and nothing to keep updated.
It reads your live data
The directory on your website is your roster, not a copy of it. Add a member in Sembr and they appear. Nobody re-exports anything, and the page cannot drift out of date, because there is no second copy to drift.
Someone joining from your site
The join widget creates a real member. They pick a tier, pay if there is something to pay, and land in your roster.
A registration or signup that is started and never paid for does not sit in your roster as a permanent half-member. Unconfirmed ones are cleaned up on their own.
Erasure from a widget
The widget surface includes a guest erasure form, so somebody who is not a portal user and never signed in can still ask to be removed. Those requests land in the same queue with the same clock as any other. See privacy requests.
Security
Widget endpoints are read-only where they should be and rate-limited where they accept input. The join and registration forms are bot-checked. A widget cannot be pointed at another organization's data by editing the snippet, because the data is scoped by the address it is served from, in the database.
What is not built
Styling controls beyond the basics. Widgets pick up your organization's colours. Deep theming is not there, and if you need the exact look of your own site, build it against the REST API instead.
